The 1992/93 season was a key year for Lazio, which, under the presidency of Sergio Cragnotti and the technical guidance of Dino Zoff, regained European qualification after 16 years, reaching the UEFA Cup. The team finished the Serie A championship in 5th place with 38 points.

The undisputed protagonist of this rebirth was Giuseppe Signori, who arrived from Foggia. “Beppe Gol” immediately established himself as the top scorer in Serie A, scoring 26 goals in 32 appearances.
