Palermo’s 2015/16 season was characterized by great instability on the bench and a difficult fight for salvation in Serie A.

President Maurizio Zamparini, known for his frequent changes of coach, did not disappoint: the team saw nine technical changes during the season. Among the various coaches who followed one another, there were Giuseppe Iachini (who had two different periods at the helm), Davide Ballardini (also with two different periods), Fabio Viviani, Giovanni Bosi, Giovanni Tedesco and Walter Novellino.

Despite the managerial chaos and the difficulties on the pitch, Palermo managed to achieve salvation on the last day, beating Hellas Verona 3-2. The team finished the championship in 16th place in the standings, tied on points with Udinese (39 points), but was saved thanks to favorable head-to-head clashes.

Palermo’s best scorer of the season in the championship was Alberto Gilardino, with 10 goals. In the Coppa Italia, Palermo was eliminated in the fourth round.
