Euro 2016 was a bittersweet and triumphant tournament for Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal, culminating in a historic victory.

The final against the hosts and big favorites, France, was the culmination of this journey. Unfortunately for Ronaldo, his match ended prematurely due to a knee injury suffered after just a few minutes of play, forcing him to leave the field in tears. Despite the absence of their captain and iconic player, Portugal, driven by grit and determination, managed to hold on and win the tournament thanks to a goal from Éder in extra time.

Although his final was interrupted, Ronaldo was still a crucial protagonist in the Euro 2016, contributing 3 goals and 3 assists during the tournament. His leadership, charismatic presence and decisive goals were essential in propelling Portugal to their first ever victory in a major international tournament. The joy of lifting the cup, even if limping, was an iconic image and the demonstration of the fulfillment of a long-chased dream.
